-Question and Answer session with the council and community.
John Drayman , President of Montrose Shopping Park Association
Increase in turn-over in commercial properties – 8 properties have been sold this last year. The new owners are increasing prices. Historical perspective. History is a thing of the past present and future. Please join us in asking the City of Glendale to adjust zoning requirements (re-zoning) and the State to designate Montrose as a state historic district. District would consist of three blocks of Honolulu. Property owners approached the Association to do something. Montrose has 100% occupancy, for the first time in many years. Don’t want to have big corporations such as the Gap to come in and build-out the small-town feel. Trying to achieve economical stability. The creation of historical district would be Blocks 2200, 2300, 2400. 18 of 30 owners who he has spoken to support the historic district.
-Question and Answer session with the council and community.
Motion - Councilmember Smiley - Motion to write letter to City of Glendale to support re-zoning of Montrose Shopping Park to limit building heights and restrict multi-floor additions that would compromise the historic character of the district.
