2.  Approval of Minutes of CVTC General Meeting, November 16, 2006 [unanimously approved]

 

3.  CVTC Holiday Spirit Awards

                Karen and Rod Longpre – for beautiful lights on their home.

                Montrose Shopping Park Association [presentation not made because nobody from Association was there to receive]

 

4. Special CVTC Presentation

Jennifer Dutton working on Girl Scout silver award – selling preparedness kits and accepting donations for Katrina library fund.

Councilmember Pierce presented gifts to the Norbuts in celebration of their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

 

5. Comments from Officials

Presented La Crescenta Crime Statistics for December 2006 (see attached report)

Brought Wildland Fire Preparedness brochure recently prepared and being distributed by Fire Department.

Assistant Superintendent of GUSD Greg Franklin – Kudos to CV High School and County Health for handling the meningitis scare.  Many schools have recently gone through accreditation process.  Employee bargaining with teachers has begun.    

 

6. Public Comments

-Mark Totten from the Crescenta Valley Library thanked the community for support and looked forward to a successful 2007.

-Suzanne Passintino From Allied Waste announced reminder of date change for refuse pick-up.

-Kerry Erickson expressed a concern about too many trucks on the street near CV Tow.

 

7. CVTC Motions

 

 

County Planning Commission received one letter concerned about trucks driving through the neighborhood.  Motion made by Councilmember Thomas and seconded by Councilmember Beatty, but that Councilmember Andrus will get with CV Tow, and content of letter will be worked out at executive meeting. 

 

8. CVTC Committee Reports

Today Committee had a meeting with artists.  Glass artist presented stained glass depiction showing front door (shown).  Main artist needs to get further along before presenting more detail.  Next week will be an architect meeting to finalize exterior design.
