Library Vicki Guagliardo -

Community Cookbooks are available for purchase through the La Crescenta Library. Proceeds go to the fund for the future La Crescenta Library.

California Highway Patrol Officer Vince Bell -

Prescription medication can impair drivers and cause accidents.

Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Marie Hannah -

Crimes of the past month were reviewed, including three narcotics arrests. Most burglaries are due to unlocked vehicles. Watch Commander Randy Sulstrom was in attendance. Two narcotics detectives, Ken Price and Anthony Moore, made a special appearance to address recent concerns regarding a case of suspected narcotics activity in the Crescenta Valley. They explained that their working hours are "Flex-40," or around the clock, including nights and weekends. Evidence and corroborative information goes to the District Attorney, who then determines if the case can be won. Detectives use multiple methods of collecting evidence, including surveillance and informants. Detectives Price and Moore reported that there is no narcotics problem in our area, and that the local schools are "outstanding" in this regard.
