    10. Special Public Notices

    · Coyotes – They have been seen during the day and they are very bold. Please make sure that water and food are put away and not kept outside. They ask like a playful dog to encourage pets to come out and they surround them.

o For more information, visit the U.S. Department of Agriculture Web site at www.aphis.usda.gov/wildlife_damage/nwrc/publications/living/coyotes.pdf

    · Alcoholic Beverage Control – Visit www.abc.ca.gov for information regarding alcoholic sales licenses, any prior citations, etc. The prior concern that was voiced to the Council was passed on to ABC.

    · Community Standards District – The Council received an email from Regional Planning regarding the Commission hearing scheduled in May. It has been put back a few months as the County makes sure it can enforce the CSD. The County is looking into the possible need to hire an architect, as well as document what existing businesses have, as they are grandfathered in under the CSD. The CSD is tentatively on the agenda for August 27, 2008. This will likely increase fees for permits.

    · Fundraising

o The Council will have a rolling silent auction each month. The first auction is for 5 certificates to Extreme Boot Camp, donated by Linda Taix. The program is 6 weeks, 5 days per week, one hour a day. Bids will increase in $25 increments. Soon, you can go online, to www.yourtowncouncil.org or www.crescentavalleytowncouncil.org to bid online. This first auction runs through the end of May. The first 5 people to bid will get a complete fitness analysis from the same group. Each certificate is valued at $500.

o There is also bidding on 2 Mammoth life tickets for $50 each. Normal value is $80.

o Movies in the Park July 19th at Two Strike Park. We will have a BBQ from Big Tex BBQ, with local bands before the movie. You can bring your own food or purchase BBQ food - $10 for adults or $5.50 for kids.

o Sept 6th – Joint pancake breakfast with CV High. The bands, pep squads, etc. will be involved to help sell tickets.

    13. Items from Council

    · Cellular tower and antenna issues – There was a 1996 Federal Mandate that local government could not address health issues. The CVTC offered the General Meeting and other public meetings to residents who have expressed concern about the proposed cellular antenna, but they have not accepted. When a CUP is pulled, one issue they must address is health issues, but they cannot due to the Federal mandate. The County therefore says there are no health issues regarding a cell tower when they cannot determine that. The CVTC has asked the County change their language on this issue for future purposes.

o Motion by Councilmember Erickson and seconded by Councilmember Smiley that the CVTC write a letter that there are too many cell towers in this area. Discussion about opposition and composition of the letter, as well as what is the regulation about density of towers and what happens to them when they are obsolete? Is this antenna a necessity? Motion passed 6-2. Opposed by Council members Thomas and Arnold.

    · Please review the CVTC brochures and propose any changes to Council members Beyt and Davis

o Need information regarding Hometown Heroes Banners

    · Rosemont - April 23, 2008, 6:30 PM meeting in the Library regarding maintaining parent/child relationships

    · The next CV Historical Society meeting will be regarding French heritage, at the Church of Religious Science. They are still fundraising for the medallion for the new County library and they still have about $8,000 to go.

    · Walgreen’s property – The weeds are getting bad so if they’re not starting any work within the next month, please contact them to clear the weeds.
