The Crescenta Valley Town Council 2008 Election is complete. Special thank you to Community Members Barbara Falke, Jane Campbell, and Nina Beyt; Councilmembers Krista Smiley, Steve Pierce, Cheryl Davis, Frank Beyt, Bruce Campbell, and Curt Cleven; and Sheriff Volunteers for all for all of their help during our almost 12 hour day. We had 451 voters, 364 regular voters and 87 absentee voters. Congratulations to our three new regular members, with new-comer Steve Goldsworthy taking the first seat with 248 votes. The race was tight between the second and third seat with the tallying of votes going back and forth between Danette Erickson and Robert Thomas. Danette took the second seat with 198 votes and Robert took the third seat with 168 votes. The first alternate seat belongs to Charles Beatty with 127 votes followed very closely by Liz Arnold with 123 votes who will be the second alternate. The third alternate seat goes to new-comer Robbyn Battles with 114 votes. We have to say a sad goodbye to our dear friend Dennis van Bremen who trailed by only 2 votes, bringing in 112. However, when he soon retires from CVHS, we expect him to run again and take a full Council seat! New-comer Christina Cauble came in with 36 votes. Now that her feet are wet, perhaps she would like to work on some Council Committees in the upcoming year. The Nominating Committee with be contacting the regular Council Members shortly to discuss board positions for the coming year. Officer elections will occur directly following the new Council Members taking their oath on December 18th. Have a great rest of the weekend!
